Dental Implants vs. Bridges vs. Dentures: Which Is Right for You?

Losing a tooth leaves you with three main replacement options: a dental implant, a fixed bridge, or a removable denture. Each has a place, but they differ in how long they last, how they feel and what they do for your jawbone.
Dental implants
An implant replaces the tooth root with a titanium post that fuses with the jawbone. Because it stimulates the bone like a natural root, it helps prevent the bone loss that follows tooth loss. Implants do not rely on neighboring teeth and, with good care, can last for decades.
Bridges
A traditional bridge fills a gap by crowning the teeth on either side and suspending a false tooth between them. It is faster than an implant but requires reshaping healthy teeth, and the bone under the missing tooth continues to shrink over time.
Dentures
Removable dentures are the lowest up-front cost option but can slip, affect speech, and limit what you can eat. Many patients who have worn dentures for years move to implant-supported options such as All-On-4 for a fixed, stable smile.
How to decide
The best option depends on your bone, gum health, budget and goals. A free consultation with a 3D CT scan at Paramount Dental lets Dr. Cheema show you exactly what is possible and what each option would cost.
